How to Use Midjourney Blend on the Web Alpha Site
Midjourney’s web interface has completely transformed how creators interact with AI art. While many users initially fell in love with Midjourney through Discord, the official web app streamlines the entire creative workflow. One of the most powerful tools brought over to the browser is the Blend feature, which allows you to seamlessly merge two to five images into a brand-new aesthetic creation without typing a single word of text.
Whether you are looking to combine your face with a historical portrait, fuse two distinct art styles, or mash up architectural concepts, the web interface makes it incredibly visual and intuitive. What is Midjourney Blend?
The Blend feature acts like a digital blender for your visual ideas. Instead of trying to describe a complex mix of styles, textures, and subjects using text prompts, you provide Midjourney with the actual images. The AI analyzes the composition, color palettes, lighting, and subjects of each image and fuses them together to create something entirely original.
On Discord, this required typing /blend and uploading files individually. On the website, it is a simple matter of dragging, dropping, and clicking.
Step-by-Step Guide to Blending Images on the Web
To get started, make sure you have access to the creation tools on the official website. 1. Access the Imaging Create Bar
Log into your account and navigate to the Create tab at the top or side of the dashboard. This opens up the main generation interface where you normally type your text prompts. 2. Upload Your Images
Look for the plus icon (+) or the image icon inside the prompt bar.
Click it to browse your local files, or simply drag and drop your chosen images directly into the prompt box. You can upload anywhere from two to five images.
Once uploaded, you will see small thumbnails of your images sitting right inside the text input area. 3. Set the Images to “Image Prompt” Mode
By default, when you upload images on the website, Midjourney treats them as visual references. To ensure they act as a blend:
Hover over or click on each image thumbnail inside the prompt bar.
Ensure they are selected as an Image Prompt (represented by an image icon) rather than a character or style reference.
Pro Tip: Keep the text prompt completely empty if you want a pure blend. If you add text, Midjourney will blend the images and try to incorporate your written description. 4. Adjust the Aspect Ratio (Optional)
Before hitting enter, click on the settings/parameters icon on the right side of the prompt bar. Here, you can select your desired aspect ratio (
